Three Discovery is the spark that empowers you with the skills and confidence to make the most of life’s everyday connections, together.

Digital technology has completely transformed our everyday lives, from the way we work, to how we connect with one another both online and offline. It has evolved at such speed that while it has opened opportunities for many, it has also left some behind

Our sessions empower and educate people of all ages and abilities to develop some of the core skills needed for a digital world. From digital job hunting and security, to vlogging and coding, we now offer over 40 different courses across the country, which will continue to evolve as new technology gains ground.

That’s why in 2014, we launched the Three Discovery programme to deliver free digital skills training courses to communities, businesses and individuals that were being digitally excluded from society. Our aim was to make mobile technology accessible and enjoyable for everyone, in an environment in which no question was too silly, and no solution too hard to find.

We believe that digital skills are vital for making the most of everyday life and that digital technology can generate innovation, open doors to opportunity, and help people forge connections. We remain committed as ever to make the digital world an inclusive place for everyone.

Our training framework

Technology is changing, and so too are the skills needed to thrive in a world that is increasingly digital by default.

To craft our Discovery lesson plans and courses, we have a clear framework and set of principles to ensure we deliver training that is inclusive and beneficial to everyone from all walks of life.

The Essential Digital Skills Framework

Developed by the Department of Education, the Essential Digital Skills Framework defines the skills needed to safely benefit from, participate in and contribute to the digital world. It has recently been updated to reflect the evolution of digital technology in all aspects of work and life. Our Discovery programme is mapped against the Framework’s objectives, to ensure our sessions support a wider journey of learning.
